
Meet Justin D. Henderson
Finding Wellness and Well-being in a Struggling World
Dr. Justin D. Henderson is a counseling psychologist, educator, and workplace culture strategist. As a mental health clinician and a workplace expert, Dr. Henderson helps establish pathways toward wellness and well-being at individual, organizational, and cultural levels.
Dr. Henderson is also an academic and scholar. He is an assistant professor at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he writes about and studies burnout, mental healthcare, addiction, and hate. He has developed a model of burnout called the Social Ecological Model of Burnout (SEMB), which helps identify specific strategies to tackle the burnout problem at the individual, relational, organizational, and institutional levels.
Dr. Henderson also has expertise in mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Compassion Focused Therapy). Dr. Henderson is a Certified Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT)™ Teacher through the Compassion Institute and the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University. He is a professional member of the Compassion Institute, Compassion Education Alliance, and Compassionate Mind Foundation.
